The Seed Of Eden
Patrick Overton
I have learned what is contained
In the wisdom of the ancients
There are no gardens left
Except for the one in each of us"
The Seed Of Eden
Genetically coded with the memory
Of a way that life was
But is no more
Passed from one cell's generation to
another
Waiting for the chance to break through the
surface of our lives
Reclaim the wilderness
Turn lush the barren desserts of our souls
I have learned that for every birth
There is a corresponding pain
But it is in the willingness to risk new life
Paradise lost can be regained
This is the genesis of our humanity
The redeeming grace of saying, we
There is a light within us There is a way to be truly caring, honest and kind There is a way to live in harmony Much better than just I, me, mine It is when we work together And raise our hands as We, That certain happiness we will truly find
